Nurse Anesthetists

Charles Wayne Eubanks, CRNA

Southwest Missouri School of Anesthesia

I was born, and raised in Dover, AR, served five years in the U.S. Navy, then returned to Arkansas. My family and I live 20 minutes north of Fort Smith, AR.

My family and I enjoy the Fort Smith area, because it maintains a small town feel, yet affords access to larger areas with only a short drive. It’s a great place to raise a family.

Sheila Foster, CRNA

Texas Christian University

I’m from Stigler, Oklahoma. Previously lived in Modesto, California and Tulsa, Oklahoma. Married for 33 years. I have one adult daughter and 4 grandchildren. I like to craft/sew, read, work-out and spend time with friends/family.

The Ft Smith area is the perfect size. It has a wide array of dining, shopping and activities available without the overcrowding of bigger cities. Big City access with small town feel.

Jason Baugh, CRNA

Webster University - St. Louis

I am from Pine Bluff. My wife's name is Laci and we have two kids Peyton and Brooklyn. We enjoy baseball, gymnastics, and traveling in RV. Sometimes I play golf!

Fort Smith is a great place to live, work, and raise a family. Good public schools and churches. A good place to work with great coworkers! Lots of activities: restaurants, shopping, fishing, and hunting. They have several public golf courses. Also, a water park ( Parrot Island).

Jeni Little, CRNA

Webster University - St. Louis

I’m from Fort Smith. I worked here at Mercy years ago in ICU before going to anesthesia school in 1998. I came back to work for the group in 2001.

I have two sons that are 18 and 19. I also have 4 fur babies that I treat like my kids. I love to garden and work in my flower beds in my free time. I also love to be on the water at the lake or sailing in the ocean.

The schools here are great in my opinion. It’s not necessary to pay for private school although there are some good ones available.  It’s beautiful here with a lot of outdoor activities. Lakes for boating, lots of places to hike/camp/kayak! Winters are mild and the cost of living is very reasonable.

Theresa Halliburton, CRNA

Bridegeport Hospital School of Nurse Anesthesia

I was born in Arkansas but grew up all over the U.S. I spent 10 years in the Air Force and returned to Arkansas after that. I love this area because there is so much outdoor activity. As a family we love to camp, swim, horseback ride, and participate in the Society of Creative Anachronism.

Originally I returned here because of my parents. I stayed here because of all the outdoor activities available and because of smaller town feel of this area. There are so many beautiful places to explore and friendly people to meet.

Corey D. Julian, CRNA

LSU Health New Orleans

Born and raised in Trenton, New Jersey. Spent 22 years in the U.S. Army with multiple deployments to Iraq. I am married to Paula Julian and we have four daughters Kristian, Coriana, Kali, and Zoë.

Quiet and family oriented with extremely nice and friendly people.

Elizabeth Cox, CRNA

Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia

Hello! I’m Elizabeth. I’m a married mother of 3 children 25, 17, and 15 and a new grandmother! I enjoy going out with my husband, friends and family in my free time. We like to go to dinner, the casino, pool parties, and back yard bar-b-ques. I’m really loving spending time with my grand baby lately!

I’m originally from Kentucky. I moved here 7 years ago to work at the other hospital in Fort Smith but made the best move ever to come to Mercy last year! I have so many friends in the community and also enjoy doing a lot in the community with my family. Mount Magazine in our favorite but there are also many other parks and lakes here in the natural state! Also nearby are Tulsa, Fayetteville, Little Rock, and Branson....not to mention that we have a very convenient little airport here in Fort Smith as well as one in Fayetteville.

Clifton Veatch, CRNA

Texas Christian University

I am originally from Bossier City, Louisiana. I have been married to Angela for 23 years. We have two children, Abigail, 19 and Thomas, 11. I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, traveling, and fishing.

I work with a great group of people. This job allows for a great deal of autonomy. We live in a very beautiful part of the country. There are so many opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors. I also enjoy having four seasons.

BetsyJean Smith, CRNA

Hamot School of Anesthesia

I grew up in Coronado California and after graduating from high school, moved to several different places and landed in Idaho, where I graduated with my BSN. I was a NICU nurse for 8 years and decided to go back for CRNA. I joined the Navy to accomplish this and after I got out of the Navy, I moved to this area and have a small ranch where I raise horses and a few cattle. I have two grown sons and 5 precious grand babies.

I interviewed for a job in this area,  not knowing anything about it. When I came here for the interview, I fell in love with the area, the lakes, rivers, rolling hills and the great places for horseback riding.  I bought a place in the country and love the lifestyle.  It was also a great place to raise my boys!

Fort Smith is a nice place to live; large enough to have lots of amenities and things to do while being small enough to avoid the hassles of a big city.
